Mardi Gras Florida Casino, home of South Florida’s top poker room The Big Easy, hosted a Celebrity Bounty Poker Tournament featuring WQAM’s host of Afternoon Drive, Sid Rosenberg on Wednesday night. The evening started with Sid hosting his radio show directly from the Big Easy Poker Room. As Sid’s show broadcasted, some of the local Florida tournament players lined up to buy in for a shot at the $500 bounty placed on Sid Rosenberg. Thursday night was an exciting night for both the Big Easy Poker Room and the Hillel community. Mardi Gras Florida Casino in Hallandale Beach was host of Hillel's 7th annual Texas Hold'em Tournament that broke records for attendance and fundraising. The tournament drew nearly 200 players, including Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi and the Mizrachi family. After a delicious buffet and an autograph session with the Mizrachi family in the Dawg House Sports Bar, players made their way to their seats ready to battle for the $10,000 first prize. Mardi Gras Casino’s French Quarter Restaurant & Bar participated in the annual Las Olas Food & Wine Festival on Friday evening, April 30th. A crowd of 3,000 people was expected. However, the afternoon brought thunderstorms that kept all of the participants from setting up their tables and preparing their food presentations for several hours while the rain fell in torrents. At around 6:30pm the rain let up enough for us to set up and by 7:30pm, there were crowds of Tasters who had paid over $60 for a ticket to taste the best food in South Florida.

The Greater Hollywood Chamber of Commerce (GHCC) hosted the Ultimate Food, Wine & Tradeshow Experience - Hollywood’s 16th Annual Expo Alfresco. The expo was on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at ArtsPark at Young Circle (Hollywood Boulevard and Federal Highway).
